The ceremony

We come from two different worlds. One of us grew up with temple bells, the other with church choirs, and somewhere along the way we fell in love with the warmth of both.
So this might not look like any wedding you've been to. There are no priests and no pastors. Someone dear to us will officiate, and our families and friends will help us borrow the bits we love from both sides and make them ours.
Our tradition
Our tradition
A live band plays while everyone finds a seat.
Find your seat
His tradition
Shravan and his family are welcomed at the entrance arch by Aishwaria's family with a maalai, and her brother walks him down the aisle.
Her tradition
The bridesmaids, the ring and vow bearers, the flower girls and the maid of honour make their way down the aisle.
Her tradition
To the bridal march, Aishwaria walks down the aisle with her parents, who hand her over to Shravan.
Please rise
Our tradition
Our officiant welcomes everyone, tells our story, and walks you through what happens next.
Her tradition
Our parents light the brass lamp, their blessing of everlasting light as we begin our journey together.
His tradition
We sit together on a swing, a symbol of balance, harmony and staying steady through all of life’s ups and downs.
His tradition
The most joyful chaos of the morning! A song starts playing, family and friends lift us up onto their shoulders, and we try to swap garlands while they playfully pull us apart. Everyone joins in, so cheer loudly and pick a side.
Join in!
Our tradition
Couplets from the Thirukkural and a passage from 1 Corinthians, two traditions saying the same thing about love.
Please be seated
Her tradition
“With this ring, I thee wed, and seal my promise to you.” Promises we’ve written ourselves.
His tradition
Shravan ties the thaali around Aishwaria’s neck, and that’s the knot tied! The moment it happens, shower us with flower petals. Lots of them.
Please rise · petals ready
Our tradition
Come up on stage and say hi for a photo, then head over for breakfast.
What to wear
Wear whatever makes you feel good. Honestly.
If you'd like to match the mood, a touch of traditional is always lovely: a silk, a kurta, a flowy saree, your favourite jhumkas. But there's no dress code, and we'll be happy to see you in anything.
The morning ceremony is outdoors, so breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear will be your best friends.
Your day, planned
A suggested rhythm for the day, so you know when to leave, when to be seated, and when to rest.
Yes, it’s early! The good news: ECR is empty at this hour. Allow 40 minutes from the city, plus a few to park.
The band will be playing. Find a seat before the groom arrives.
The groom’s welcome, the bride’s entry, the lamp, the oonjal, the garland exchange, vows, rings and the thaali.
Come up on stage and say hi for a photo, then head over for breakfast.
Head back for a well-earned nap, or wander along ECR. There’s an artists’ village and a beach right next door (ideas below).
Dinner, music and a lot of hugs, indoors in the hall.

Our story
Shravan & Aishwaria, or Dheepu & Cherie to most of you. Here’s how two colleagues with a secret ended up here.
Photo coming soonChapter one
We met as colleagues: same office, same deadlines, same questionable coffee. Somewhere between the meetings and the chai breaks, we became the kind of friends who saved each other a seat at lunch and found every excuse to talk a little longer.
Chapter two
Work ended at six, but somehow our day didn’t. Evenings out turned into long conversations, and long conversations turned into the slow, obvious realisation that we liked each other. A lot. Neither of us said it. Both of us knew.
Photo coming soonChapter three
Then came one outing when we simply couldn’t stop smiling at each other: holding hands, sitting a little too close, giving it all away. That evening, we finally said it out loud. Dheepu dropped Cherie home and rode back with the silliest grin on his face. He says he smiled the whole way. She says he still hasn’t stopped.
Chapter four
Being colleagues meant we couldn’t tell a single soul. Not one. A careless moment could have cost Cherie her job, so we kept straight faces in office corridors (much harder than it sounds) and met only after work. But slowly, the hiding mattered less. We stopped looking over our shoulders and simply started being us.
Photo coming soonChapter five
Late-night walks. Roadside dinners and the occasional five-star splurge. Metro rides, long drives, bike rides, candlelight dinners, little gifts, and an “I love you” every now and then, just because. It was the best phase of our lives. It still is.
Chapter six
The moment we left the company and could finally be out in the open, life posted Dheepu to Bangalore and Cherie to Hyderabad. Of course it did. So we did long distance: late-night calls, counting down to weekends, and making every visit count.
Chapter seven
When we said we wanted to get married, not everyone took us seriously. Different faiths, different worlds, too many “what ifs.” It was never the two of us against each other. It was the two of us against the circumstances. It took strength, patience and a whole lot of trust. We held on, together.
Photo coming soonChapter eight
And now, we’re finally getting married! Ahead of us: more late-night walks, movie nights, Dheepu cooking for Cherie, grocery runs, laundry and all the beautifully mundane chores. Even sitting next to each other doing absolutely nothing sounds perfect. We’re so happy, and so proud of how we got here. Thank you for being part of it.
I smiled the whole scooty ride home that night. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve stopped.
Dheepu's version
[Cherie’s version: ask her!]
Cherie's version
Take a guess
Just for fun. Tap a guess and we'll spill the beans.
Where did we first meet?
Same office. And we kept it a secret from that entire office.
Who smiled the whole way home after we confessed?
On a scooty. Grinning. The. Whole. Way.
Our long-distance years were between…
Many late-night calls. Many weekend countdowns.
Who’s the better cook?
[A playful line revealing the answer]
Coffee or tea?
[…]
Who picks the movie on movie night?

Questions
Of course! Little ones are very welcome. Just include them in your RSVP count.
Yes. Just tell us how many of you are coming when you RSVP, so we have enough seats and food.
By 5:45 AM, please. The ceremony begins right at sunrise, and the bride’s entry is not one to miss! Give yourself a few extra minutes to park and walk in.
Yes, though space at the venue is limited (15–20 cars). There’s a lot close by for 60–70 more, and our helpers will guide you. Expect a short walk.
The morning ceremony is outdoors, under the open sky. Light showers are possible, but otherwise it should be lovely, and a small umbrella in your bag won't hurt. The evening reception is indoors, in the hall.
Breakfast right after the ceremony, and dinner at the reception.
Absolutely. Pick Muhurtham, Reception or both in the RSVP.
Not at all. Your being there is the gift. A few people asked, so there's a small list above, entirely optional.
Please do! We'd only ask you to put the phone down during the vows and just be there with us.
No problem. Submit the RSVP again with the same phone number and it will update.
RSVP
Just a few details, so we can plan the seats and the food.
